About

New Shanghai Melbourne Central offers a variety of authentic Chinese cuisine from the Shanghai region. From our signature Xiao Long Bao, pan fried pork buns, handmade dumplings and dim sum; to delicious Shanghai braised pork belly, rainbow beef, salt and pepper prawns and stir-fried noodles. The restaurant includes an expansive dining area, an extensive cocktail list, and a new chargrilled skewers-style menu including cumin lamb, Sichuan pepper pork belly and wagyu asparagus rolls.

New Shanghai’s chefs only use the freshest quality produce to recreate traditional Shanghainese recipes passed down from generation to generation.

Not familiar with Melbourne Central? It is located on address Cnr LaTrobe and Swanston Streets. The center includes pay parking and Melbourne Central Station is just downstairs. Find us on level 3, near Hoyts and Strike Bowling. It’s the ideal place for pre- and post-movie dining with friends, or after a game of bowling.
